Kathleen Richardson

Louisburg College
Reference Librarian
I have served as librarian in many different settings:  As a library media specialist in GA for 18 years, the first 6 in a rural school district and the last 12 in the Atlanta suburbs (DeKalb County Public Schools.) Then 13 years  as a public librarian in the Atlanta suburbs at the system with the highest circulation in the state of GA (Gwinnett County Public Library.)  I am currently the Reference Librarian at Louisburg College, Louisburg, NC.  I had not worked in an academic library since my graduate assistant days.  My public school library media days I was in an elementary school. In Gwinnett we were generalists.  I worked with people of all ages, including children & families but my niche was adult programming.  I started the first book club at Gwinnett Public, also created a knitting circle, adult coloring group, Outlander group. My book club is still going strong 17 years later.  I'm really proud of that! So I am well versed in literature for all ages.  I have volunteered or worked in a library since 4th grade!  I knew I wanted to be a librarian before I started to school.  Love Celtic history, my only child, my dog, my cat, my 2 grands, the arts, music, literary fiction, poetry, gardening, WWF2.
